Paul Bartoo

Connecticut/Rhode Island/Massachusetts

Paul Bartoo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1979. In the years following, he was employed in various settings as a science writer, business writer, manager, and business owner.

Paul received his Master of Science degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Hartford in 2014. Following an 18-month residency in Springfield, MA, he joined OHI in March 2016, and became a certified pedorthist in March 2017.

Paul enjoys patient care and the hands-on “craft” aspects of creating and fine-tuning orthotic devices. Paul was always building things in his youth, from balsa-wood gliders, to tree houses, to skateboards.

“I read a lot of science fiction and worked hard in school. In my teens I bicycled often, played some soccer, and was introduced to yoga, which sparked in me an interest in how we move and what that means,” Paul recalls.

“My view is that we are meant to move. Our bodies depend on it. Movement enhances our health: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I find it incredibly rewarding whenever I can assist another person to become more active.”

Paul’s wife is a visual artist and teacher. They and their three children live in Hartford, CT, where they enjoy gardening, bicycling, kayaking and the occasional trip to the seashore.
